Founders

The founding members of Children Helping Children are: Salima Barrow, Abigail Thurton and Haley Thurton. The founding members are assisted by family and friends to carry out each event.

Salima Barrow

Salima Barrow was born on April 4th, 2005. She is a student of Hummingbird Elementary School in Belize City and is in Std. III.

Salima is a very outgoing girl and enjoys a number of extra-curricular activities; including playing the piano and guitar, doing arts and crafts, playing tennis and dancing ballet. She likes nature and animals, especially her dog Sparky. Salima loves to travel and one of her favourite places to be is in water; swimming, snorkeling or just enjoying the beach.

From a very young age, Salima has also shown interest in helping others and came up with the idea of the Limeade stand when she was only 7 years old. Her favourite color is sea blue.

Abigail Thurton

Abigail Amelia Thurton born November 7th 2004, and is one of a set of twins. Abigail attends Hummingbird Elementary School in Belize City and is in Std. III.

Abigail likes animals especially dogs and horses. She enjoys swimming, drawing and painting, riding, music and plays the piano, guitar and steel pan (double tenor). Abigail joined the Pantempters Junior Steel Orchestra in July 2014 and earned Grade 1 Piano with merit The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRMS) and Grade 1 Music Theory with distinction (ABRSM) in 2014. Abigail's favourite colour is blue and her favourite number is 5!

Haley Thurton

Haley Alea Thurton born November 7th 2004, and is one of a set of twins. Haley attends Hummingbird Elementary School in Belize City and is in Std. III.

Haley loves dogs and enjoys swimming, dancing, riding, music and plays the violin and steel pan (double tenor). Haley joined the Pantempters Junior Steel Orchestra July 2014 and plays third violin in Pallotti School of Music Junior String Orchestra since September 2014. Haley's favourite colours are peach and periwinkle and her favourite number is 11.
