When life gives you limes... make limeade!

Salima's Limeade Stand
The first event, entitled "Salima's Limeade Stand" was held on November 4th, 2012 before the organization was officially named Children Helping Children. It was hosted by Salima Barrow, Gianna Saldivar, Abigail Thurton and Haley Thurton at the BTL Park in Belize City. The sale was supported by Bowen and Bowen Crystal Juice. Salima and her friends were off to a great start and made $2,051.20 selling limeade.

Children Helping Children Limeade Sale
Closely following Salima's Limeade Stand, was the first event held under the name Children Helping Children held on November 29th, 2012 at Hummingbird Elementary School in Belize City. The entire Standard I Class, at the time, came together to help with this Limeade sale, which made a little over $1,100. All funds raised through the first two events were donated to the Children's Wing of the Belize Cancer Center, in Dangriga Town, Stann Creek District.

A Day at the Zoo
On December 23rd, 2012 Children Helping Children continued their fundraising efforts and teamed up with the Belize Zoo. For that Sunday, half of the gate fees from the Zoo were contributed to the CHC Fund to help children afflicted with cancer. Those who took part also received a signed copy of the book WORDS OF WISDOM FROM HAPPY THE OWL as well as the opportunity to give the black jaguar, Lucky Boy, a "high Five." The Zoo was so touched by Salima's efforts that they continued the fundraiser to the 31st of December, 2012.

Limeade and Bake Sale
The 2013 Children Helping Children Limeade and Bake Sale was hosted by Salima Barrow, Halle Fuller, Abigail Thurton and Haley Thurton Âon Saturday, October 5th, in the parking lot of the Brodies Supermarket on the Phillip Goldson Highway. This event was supported by Bowen and Bowen Crystal Water. The proceeds from the sale, amounting to $2,226.50 were donated to the Belize Cancer Society in Belize City.

In September 2015 and 2017, Children helping children, with assistance from their families, a few of their friends and classmates, organized a limeade and bake sale at Brodie’s parking lot in Belize City.
At both events, supporters were entertained through short skits and performances. Proceeds from both went to the Belize Cancer society.
